Corona-Demonstration
Munich (dpa) – About 5000 people demonstrated against Corona measures in Munich yesterday. The mood was aggressive, in some cases there were violent excesses, the police said.
A media representative is said to have been attacked during the riots, and the police arrested the alleged perpetrator. A total of 11 people were arrested and 14 criminal offenses were reported, including the use of symbols of unconstitutional organizations and dangerous assault against law enforcement officers. The police did not provide specific information on injured emergency services on request. Pepper spray and batons were used because of the attacks on police officers.
After opponents of the corona measures had canceled a registered demonstration in advance, according to the police, messenger groups were called for so-called walks through the city. Ultimately, a demonstration march was formed, which was pulled towards the city center and stopped by law enforcement officers. The protesters ignored requests from the police, it said. Later the participants dispersed, around 9:30 p.m. there were only a few groups in the city center.
A rally by opponents of the originally registered demonstration went without incident, according to the police. The group of around 160 people broke up in the early evening.
