Here are 4 armed groups involved in the Russian-Ukrainian battle.
1. Azov regiment group
The Azov regiment is a right-wing neo-Nazi group that developed into the Ukrainian armed forces.
Furthermore, this group also expanded into political parties and street militias. Azov was formed in May 2014 by Andriy Biletsky as a group of volunteers.
The group is also fighting Russian-backed separatists in Donetsk.
A video released by the Ukrainian National Guard shows Azov fighters covering lard bullets for use against Russia’s ally, the Chechen Muslim army.
Fighters from the Azov group also provide training for Ukrainian civilians.
2. Chechen Muslim Army
Through a statement from its leader, Ramzan Kadyrov, the Chechen Muslim army has decided to help Russia in its invasion of Ukraine.
