Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte had announced this confinement on the night of March 9-10, explaining to 60 million Italians that the extension to the whole territory of this measure ordered two days earlier for the North was the only way to contain the pandemic.
It killed nearly 29,000 people on the peninsula, according to official figures.
As of Saturday, 474 new deaths have been reported. But it was a correction because some figures had not been released in the previous days.
There have been 1,389 infections in the country in the past 24 hours (compared to around 1,900 on Saturday), for a total of 210,717.
Since the start of the crisis, 81,654 people have been cured and the number of intensive care patients has continued to decrease.
