A 17-year-old teenager, suspected of being the perpetrator, was arrested around 8 p.m. while he was on a Vélib, shortly after the incident, and was taken into police custody. The facts took place in a residential area of the city, in the presence of a few young people, according to a police source, which for the time being excludes a homicide linked to gang phenomena. The victim, originally from Bagnolet, and the suspect who resides in Les Lilas, are not known to the police and the investigation was entrusted to the judicial police of the department.

Several teenagers have been killed recently in Ile-de-France in cases related to the phenomena of online harassment or clashes between gangs of young rivals. In May, in the space of a week, two teenagers from Val-de-Marne, aged 17, were stabbed, following disputes. Alysha, a 14-year-old schoolgirl victim of harassment, was found drowned in the Val-d’Oise in March.
