125 passengers per flight with positive tests for Covid-19

A total of 125 passengers arriving in the northern Indian city of Amritsar on a flight from Italy tested positive for Covid-19. They will be placed in isolation, the local health service said, the BBC reported.

There was a plane from Milan a total of 179 passengers. Children and babies have been exempted from testing for Covid-19, so tests were performed on 160 people.

Television footage shows ambulances lined up in front of the airport to transport infected passengers and crowds in front of the front door.

On Thursday, India reported more than 90,000 new cases of coronavirus – almost a sixfold increase over the last week, which experts say is fueled by the Omicron option. In 24 hours, 325 deaths were registered in the country.
