10 years after Cabinda, Kodjovi Obilalé finally receives aid from CAF

Seriously injured during the attack on the Togo selection bus in Cabinda before the CAN 2010 in Angola, goalkeeper Kodjovi Obilalé lost the use of his legs and was never able to put on the gloves again.

After having been honored by a “special price» in January during the CAF Awards ceremony, the 35-year-old Togolese finally received financial assistance in the amount of 10,000 dollars from the Confederation of African Football (CAF). This is a great step forward when the former management of CAF had long shown extreme harshness in this matter.

«When I went to Cairo (CAF headquarters, editor’s note), CAF had promised to help me in my agricultural activities. I wanted to thank them because they sent me a letter with a check», Revealed Obilalé for RFI. A sum that the ex-porter of Pontivy will use for his Agrofoot project, which promotes sustainable agriculture.
