The head of state invited Kurtz to visit Ukraine in the near future, and also spoke about the Crimean platform.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Wednesday, June 2, held a telephone conversation with Federal Chancellor of Austria Sebastian Kurz, during which, in particular, he discussed the situation in Donbass. This was reported by the press service of the President’s Office.

During the conversation, Zelensky told Kurtz about the current situation in Donbass, as well as about the recent escalation of the situation along the borders of Ukraine. The President also briefed the Austrian Chancellor on the Crimean Platform.

Kurz and Zelensky, in particular, discussed the progress of the implementation of the agreements that were reached during the visit of the Ukrainian President to Austria, and also noted the revival of bilateral trade.

The parties also exchanged views on the fight against the coronavirus pandemic and discussed progress in the implementation of a number of investment projects in Ukraine with the participation of Austrian businesses.

Special attention was paid to the priority task of the dialogue between Ukraine and the EU. Kurz, for his part, supported Ukraine’s European integration aspirations.

Recall that at the end of April, when the situation on the border between Ukoaina and Russia escalated, Kurz asked Putin to explain his approach to Ukraine.

It was also reported that Kurz favored the construction of Nord Stream 2, albeit with the observance of the interests of Ukraine.
