It is an exceptional invitation to which a handful of teenagers from the city have been invited: to meet the French team victorious in the FIFA World Cup. And for the vast majority of them, it was even the opportunity to discover for the first time the gardens of the Elysée Palace, open this Monday to nearly 3,000 guests including 1,500 young people.
Among the procession of fans, a child was even “specially invited by Emmanuel Macron”. “He asked that she be part of the present”, specifies the municipality. And for good reason, the young Eden had wanted to “show a dance step” to the president during his visit to Micro-Folie last February.
From the top of her 9 years, the little girl recounts the moments preceding the arrival of the stars after having walked “the red carpet” of the steps of the Elysée. “We went to the gardens. We tasted, we danced, there was music and a big screen, says the girl. Me, I thought we were going to be between us but there were many, many people. “
Sonia was able to touch the cup
As the match approached, the excitement was at the rendezvous among the young guests, like the players of the women’s team of the Olympic football club Les Mureaux (OFCM). “We do not really know if we will be able to see the players,” however worried one of the footballers, Amélie Calvez.
If no member of the France team could really compete with the famous trophy, the young Kylian Mbappé was still one of the long-awaited stars. “He’s my favorite player. He is young and he is Parisian, ”argues Aladj, 14 years old. For his part, Leo, a young 10-year-old footballer, appreciates him for his behavior on the pitch. “I like how he plays, how he pierces and he dribbles,” smiles the fan, more used to seeing some members of the France team play at the Parc des Princes.
And the meeting ultimately ended up exceeding the expectations of these young football fans to surpass all their expectations. “I am completely happy,” said Sonia Maadallah, 14 years old. The young OFCM player, who hoped to “see the cup”, was not only able to touch it but also take some selfies with several Blues including N’Golo Kanté and Raphaël Varane.
