India’s National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights has requested a report from the administration of the Damoh district, where the village is located.
Madhya Pradesh Police said they had not received any formal complaint regarding the event, but they had opened an investigation.
“Action will be taken if we find the girls forced to walk naked,” police inspector Damoh DR Teniwar told the Press Trust of India news agency.
