A 34-year-old woman was stabbed by her ex in Berchem on Monday morning. The woman sustained stabbing to the face and back and was taken to hospital. She’s not in danger to her life.

The facts took place on Monday morning around 9:30 am in De Fourneaustraat, not far from Berchem station. A 34-year-old woman was stabbed in a house. She sustained injuries to the face and back. “A young woman received several knife wounds. She is not in danger to life, ”said police spokesman Wouter Bruyns. The woman was taken to hospital.
The suspect, according to our information her 35-year-old ex-husband, fled but was arrested a short time later in the Van Schoonbekestraat. “His involvement is being investigated,” says Bruyns. “The forensic lab has been notified and the local police will carry out the investigation.”
