A 44-year-old woman from Tiszakürt harassed a lawyer nearly 2,000 times over the course of a year.
A man was prosecuted for fraud at the Kecskemét Police Station last year – writes Police.hu. After the suspect was arrested, his defense lawyer’s call list swelled; the victim and his daughter obtained his number and tried to contact the perpetrator through it.
The lawyer told them several times that he could not help, but the harassment did not stop.
As time passed, the man had enough money to compensate for the more than half a million damages caused by the crime. He entrusted his lawyer with handing over the amount, who complied with his request. Due to the victim’s health problems, the money was taken by his daughter, whom the lawyer asked at the personal meeting not to earn more. But despite this, the harassment did not stop, it intensified, the police report, and a tsunami of calls and text messages came from the woman, who wanted to get even more money by blackmail.
The lawyer received 2,000 calls and text messages in one year, and the woman called him dozens of times a day. On December 31, 2022, the lawyer satisfied this and reported the woman, who was questioned as a suspect for harassment.
The police completed the investigation and sent the documents to the prosecutor’s office.
