A woman in Gayo Lues, Aceh, named Kas Murni (32) was found dead on the side of the road. Kas Murni was allegedly killed by her own husband with the initials MR (26).
Kapolres Gayo Lues AKBP Setiyawan Eko Prasetiya said the police had arrested the perpetrators of the Kas Murni murders. The perpetrator is said to have had an argument with Kas Murni before stabbing the victim 23 times with a sharp weapon.
“The perpetrator was the victim’s husband. We caught him in Central Aceh last night,” Eko told journalists, as reported detikSumatraTuesday (5/9/2023).
According to him, the perpetrator killed the victim on the side of the road in the mountainous area of Leme Village, Blangkejeren, Gayo Lues on Monday (4/9) around 13.00 WIB. After killing the victim, the perpetrator is said to have fled to the Central Aceh region using a motorbike.
After learning of the whereabouts of the perpetrators, the Satreskrim personnel of the Gayo Lues Police coordinated with the Central Aceh Police. Eko explained that the perpetrator was arrested by a member of the Lut Tawar Police at around 20.00 WIB. The perpetrators and evidence have now been taken to the Gayo Lues Police.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the perpetrator and the victim had often argued since they were first married three weeks ago. One of the problems was that the victim did not want to take care of the perpetrator’s child.
“The perpetrator and his wife were a husband and wife who were just married 3 weeks ago,” added Eko.
