An avalanche on Saturday killed a woman and two children skiing in the Italian Alps, Italian television reported RAI.
One of the two children, who was seriously injured, was flown by helicopter to the hospital but, according to Italian television, eventually died.
The two children were seven years old and at least one other skier was injured.
Alpine rescue spokesman Walter Milan said three helicopters, including one Austrian, were involved in the search for other possible avalanche victims in the Senales valley, but there are no reports of missing skiers.
Walter Milan added that the victims should be of German nationality, although the identification process has not yet been completed.
The avalanche risk in the area has been high, he said.
Another avalanche injured a man in a Bolzano province valley. The man was eventually rescued by other skiers.
