The towns of Ciudad Bolívar, San Cristóbal, Rafael Uribe Uribe, Chapinero, Santa Fe, Usme, Los Mártires and Tunjuelito finish the strict quarantine today with a positive result. In traditional areas of commerce and high public influx such as San Victorino, on July 20 and the tolerance zone of Los Mártires, the quarantine was carried out and citizens stayed at home respecting the decreed measures.
The number of people on the streets was reduced, achieving a 27% decrease in the use of the TransMilenio system and a 32% decrease in the TransMiCable.
“Our gratitude for the sacrifice made by the inhabitants of these 8 towns during two weeks of strict quarantine that saved hundreds of lives in the city of Bogotá. We continue with a tireless effort in the 5 towns in the west and towards the end of this week, with those in the north of the city to together overcome this difficult moment of peak of the covid-19 pandemic in the capital of the country, “said Luis Ernesto Gómez, Government Secretary.
In the first 8 localities with strict quarantine, 19,303 covid-19 random tests were performed, with Chapinero, Tunjuelito, Ciudad Bolívar and Usme being the localities where the most were performed.
Additionally, 64,568 humanitarian aids were delivered so that the most vulnerable inhabitants of these Bogotá towns could stay at home taking care of themselves.
Despite the good behavior of the majority of citizens, in the midst of the inspection, surveillance and control operations carried out by the Government Secretariat, together with the Local Mayors and the Metropolitan Police of Bogotá, 1,962 appearings were imposed on citizens who went out to the street without masks, 3,045 to those who failed to comply with the measures decreed in the strict quarantine areas, 1,423 to establishments that opened despite the fact that their economic activity was not within the exceptions, and 2,733 traffic appeals were applied.
In the towns of Bosa, Antonio Nariño, Kennedy, Puente Aranda and Fontibón, which began the strict quarantine on July 23, 1,910 covid tests have already been carried out and 8,605 humanitarian aid have been delivered.
These coming weeks are decisive for overcoming this health crisis, for this reason a call is made to continue respecting the measures decreed to protect the health and life of all.
