This is only done in the public part, it takes 10 minutes and we can do it with a self-shot. It is also a way of testing ourselves for HIV that many times we cannot do, due to fear or lack of time, “he said.
He said that these types of operations will be repeated in various parts of the province because they seek to reach more women to take care of their health.
“We are returning to normal activities; in hospitals they are going to return with outpatient consultations. We have to begin to return to this new normal and respond to pathologies that afflict the population. Health can continue to improve, there is no ceiling. That is what we are going to do ”, he declared.
For its part, the referent of the Uterine Cervical Cancer Prevention program, doctor Italy Vega, detailed that women over 30 years of age can undergo the HPV test, while the PAP can be accessed from the age of 25.
To do this type of study, a preparation is required: the patient must not have had sexual intercourse 48 hours before, she must not have placed vaginal ovules at least in the previous three days, and not be in her menstrual period at the time of the analysis.
Also, the reference of the Breast Cancer program, doctor Estela Esquivel, He said that in the public walk they performed mammograms on patients between 40 and 70 years old.
“Once the patients undergo the mammogram, the study is referred to the mammography center at the Avellaneda hospital, where the report is made. In the event that we see a suspicious image, the patient is immediately contacted with the mastologist and that suspicious lesion is biopsied to find out and confirm the diagnosis of cancer. Accordingly, the patient continues with her annual check-ups, and if she is positive, she is referred to the oncology service for treatment and follow-up ”, he adds.
Comprehensive care
In addition to these studies of women’s health, teams of sentinel doctors participated in the operation performing swabs to detect COVID-19. “We have just started, we have about 15 tests so far and only one has given a positive result so far.
