Beijing Calls US Making China an ‘Imaginary Enemy’

BEIJINGChina blame United States of America (USA) top in a two-way relationship, accusing him of creating “imaginary enemies”. This was said by Chinese officials during a meeting with US Deputy Secretary of State, Wendy Sherman.

China’s Deputy Foreign Minister Xie Feng said in a meeting with Sherman that China-US relations face very serious problems. Where, Xie said, the problem was created by the US.

“US-China relations have stalled and are facing serious difficulties. The US wants to rekindle a sense of national purpose by establishing China as an ‘imaginary enemy’,” Xie said, as reported by Reuters on Monday (26/7/2021).

The meeting between Xie and Sherman is the first high-level meeting since the last Anchorage meeting in March. The meeting in Anchorage is a meeting of China and the US under the leadership of Joe Biden.
