Today, Saturday, 4 Egyptian governorates witnessed light rains, in separate parts of them, coinciding with warnings from the Meteorological Authority in its statement yesterday, Friday, about the possibility of rain in the governorates of the north coast and Lower Egypt.

Today, Saturday, scattered parts of the governorates of Alexandria, Beheira, Gharbia and Menoufia were hit by light rains with no water accumulation in the streets, as the sewer companies of those governorates drove their cars to the hot spots.

Today, Saturday, the executive bodies and sewer companies of Alexandria, Beheira, Gharbia and Menoufia raised the state of emergency, in preparation for the wave of bad weather and expected rainfall.

According to the Meteorological Authority, moderate rains, sometimes thunderstorms, are expected today in the areas of the northern coasts and in the Governorate of Alexandria, with an incidence of 80%.

Major General Mohamed Al-Sharif, Governor of Alexandria, announced full coordination and cooperation between all vital services and sectors of the governorate, led by the Sanitation and Drinking Water Company, the Department of Traffic and Civil Protection, and announced the continuation of the study without interruption.

It has instructed all the executive bodies concerned to constantly monitor the state of the various roads and monitor any emergency cases to avoid problems in any area due to rains and to ensure that the fluidity of traffic is achieved in all the streets of Alexandria.

He explained that the operations room of the governorate continues to be kept stably and continuously, to cope with any emergency crises, as the room receives all citizens’ complaints for rainwater accumulations.
