After months of tug-of-war it’s finally over: David Alaba is a player of Real Madrid. The club made its arrival official on Friday. Alaba comes over transfer-free from Bayern Munichwhere his contract expired.
It was already clear that Alaba would leave Real Madrid, just not to which club. Liverpool were also reportedly in the running, but could not match the financial momentum of Real Madrid, who have offered him a five-year deal.
It was a lot of work to get the transfer from Alaba. Bayern Munich wanted to extend his contract, but were unable to reach an agreement with his agent.
