White Podlaska. The city will add 120 thousand. PLN to the monument of a famous actor

Two years ago, the Association initiated a fundraiser for a monument to be erected at Plac Wolności.

Roman Kłosowski, the actor who is most famous for the role of Maliniak in “Czterdziestolatek” in Biała Podlaska, was born and graduated from I LO im. JI Kraszewski. The Bialczan Circle collected 50,000. PLN, and this is still not enough to close the settlement of the monument, which was valued at PLN 170,000. zloty. So members turned to City Hall for help. Councilors received proposals for changes to the budget, including the following: handing over 120,000 for the construction of the monument.

The councilor had the most doubts Marek Dzyr (United Right). – We all know that Mr. Roman Kłosowski has merit for our city and cinematography. However, I understand that a private group of citizens of Bialystok collected some funds and whether subsidizing the rest by the city will not create a precedent for the future – the councilor asked at the session.

He fears that others will follow in his footsteps. “The next group will come with an idea next month. It can be hard to get out of it, says Dzyr.

He also reminds you that the city has many other honorable citizens. – Following this line of reasoning, we should erect a monument to everyone – says the councillor. The actor received such a title in 2008. Besides, Ddr wonders if the inhabitants want such a monument. – Since the association has been collecting for 2 years, maybe there is a certificate. And we as a council are supposed to make a decision?

However, the council defended the idea Edward Borodijuk (unaffiliated)who argued that the Bialczan Circle is not a “private group”. – This association is celebrating its 100th anniversary, that means something. Let’s not be petty, appealed the councillor. In his opinion, collecting 50 thousand. PLN is still a lot of effort. – Besides, we have a similar situation when it comes to the renovation of historic tombstones in the cemetery. The circle collects funds, and the city also contributes. This is glorious, says Borodijuk.

Finally, the councilor of the United Right proposed at the session that instead of 120,000 PLN for the construction of the monument, the money will be spent on the purchase of 10 AED defibrillators, i.e. resuscitation devices.

– As a councillor, you can vote in three ways, it is your responsibility and room for manoeuvre. The council represents the interests of the residents, the deputy mayor replied to Dzyr Maciej Buczynski.

However, the local government will add to the monument, because the votes of the councilors of the Civic Coalition and the White Self-Government Coalition did not accept the amendment.

The bronze monument is to be unveiled in September during the Patron’s Day celebrations.
