The tip of the syringe: In southern Baden, a relatively large number of people have already been vaccinated against Corona. When it comes to first vaccinations, three districts in southern Baden are in the first place. But there are also stragglers.
That comes from statistics that the Ministry of Health sent out on Tuesday. For the first time, it lists the proportion of at least first vaccinated people and the proportion of fully vaccinated in the population for all districts in the country. Vaccinations up to last Sunday are recorded. The vaccinated persons were assigned according to their place of residence, not according to the location of the vaccination, which may be in a different district.
The top is the district of Emmendingen, where 30.7 percent of the population have received at least one vaccination box. This is followed by the district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald with 28.5 percent and the urban district of Freiburg with 27.1 percent. The districts of Tübingen (26.6) and Karlsruhe (26) and the urban district of Baden-Baden (25.9) have similar rates, followed by another southern Baden district, the Ortenaukreis (25.4). In contrast, the districts of Waldshut (19.5) and Lörrach (18.8) are in the lower third of the statistics.
With 10.5 percent of the population, Freiburg ranks second in the state for second-vaccinated people, behind Ulm (11.7 percent). There are also a relatively high number of first-vaccinated people in the Ortenau district (9.5) as well as the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald (9.8) and Emmendingen (9.4) districts. The districts of Waldshut (5.7) and Lörrach (4.6) are also far behind. The Pforzheim district comes in last with 11.9 percent vaccinated at least once and 4.2 percent fully vaccinated.
