Cannot Send Message
WhatsApp won’t delete an account if it hasn’t accepted the new privacy policy. “In order for you to have enough time to review the changes, we have postponed the effective date of the update to 15 May 2021. If you haven’t received the update until that date, WhatsApp will not delete your account,” WhatsApp said.

Account Categorized Inactive
For users who still don’t want to accept, there are several options that can be taken. Users will still be able to receive this update after May 15, 2021. However, it is certain that their accounts will be categorized under WhatsApp’s policy regarding inactive users.
An inactive user policy means there is a time limit of 120 days before the account is deleted. Well, if the user still doesn’t want to accept the new privacy policy at any time, WhatsApp gave some suggestions for preparation as the account will eventually be deleted. For example, by securing chat history.
“Before May 15, 2021, you can export chat history on Android or iPhone, and download your account report. If you want to delete your account on Android, iPhone, or KaiOS, we hope you reconsider,” said WhatsApp.
Claims WhatsApp Messages to Stay Safe
WhatsApp says there are no changes regarding WhatsApp’s security even though the new privacy rules are enforced. “One thing that is not new is our commitment to your privacy. WhatsApp cannot hear your private conversations because they are end-to-end encrypted,” WhatsApp explained.
WhatsApp states that it only collects minimal information from users. “When registering WhatsApp, you must give your phone number, name, you add a profile photo, and you must share a little information with WhatsApp,” said WhatsApp APAC Communications Director Sravanthi Dev.
