Israel has warned its citizens not to travel to Turkey, Reuters reports.
The reason is the threats of revenge by Iran for the murder last week of a colonel of the Revolutionary Guard.
Tehran has blamed Israel for killing Hassan Sayyad Hodai, who was shot dead behind the wheel of his car by two people on a motorcycle, and has vowed revenge.
Israel’s National Security Council has warned that Tehran may seek to harm Israelis in Turkey, which it has described as a “high-risk country”.
Turkey is a popular tourist destination for Israeli citizens, and the two countries are in the process of rebuilding ties after more than a decade of strained relations.
Israel has accused Hoday of plotting to attack its citizens around the world.
