What are the worst minced steaks sold in supermarkets?

Particularly consumed product, are grilled supermarket steaks of good quality? The magazine 60 million consumers decided to test 29 of them and published the results in the February 27 issue. And those who arrive at the bottom of the ranking are … organic.

The magazine measured “free fat, salt, collagen and protein” in meat before assessing its quality. She also microbiological analyzes to look for the presence of pathogenic strains, and to histological analyzes in order to inform the possible “presence of muscular tissue, fat” but especially of undesirable elements such as “bones and cartilages, tendons, lymphoid tissue and bone marrow cells”.

60 million consumers divided the ranking into two categories. And the three lowest rated steaks in the “15% fat” category are three organic. With the respective notes of 12,11.5 and 9,5 / 20, the “Beef chopped steaks” from Biocoop, the “Meat-style chopped steaks” from Naturalia and from Jean Rozé (Intermarché) did not respond positively to magazine tests. It is especially the collagen / protein ratio that was lacking.

In the category 5%, the last two in the ranking are also organic. “Chopped steaks” from Carrefour Bio and “Chopped steaks” from Bio Village (Leclerc) have an unsatisfactory microbiology.
