January 26 in the church calendar is the day of memory of Xenophon, Mary, John and Arcadius. Xenophon and Mary lived a pious life in the 5th century and had two children – John and Arcadia. Once the sons sailed to another city to study on a ship and got caught in a strong storm. The children were saved, but they were thrown to different shores. Separately, they went to different monasteries. But everyone constantly dreamed that the other brother was alive. The same dream was seen by Xenophon and Maria. Therefore, the latter went to Jerusalem. There they all finally met. Out of joy, Xenophon and Mary gave away their possessions and went to the monasteries. And John and Arkady lived in the desert and became famous for their deeds.
