We managed to identify 20 out of 109 passengers in buses with Covid-19 patients – in Latvia – News

Bus passengers who left on June 26 at 13.35 by JSC “Nordeka” (flight no. 7743) on the bus route Riga – Valmiera – Rūjiena, as well as passengers who traveled by bus “VTU Valmiera” (flight no. 782509) on the route Valmiera-Valka, which departed at 16.05.

All passengers traveling on these routes must be quarantined at home, remain at home and contact the SPKC epidemiologist by phone 67271738 from 5 pm to 8.30 am or by phone 64281131 during business hours from 8.30 am to 5 pm.

The SPKC reminds that every citizen has the opportunity to take a state-paid Covid-19 test even if there are no symptoms of the disease. In order to take the test, it is mandatory to register in advance by calling 8303 on weekdays from 8 am to 8 pm and on Saturdays from 9 am to 3 pm, as well as on Sundays from 9 am to 12 noon.

The SPKC also reminds that the “Stop Covid” application has been developed for the public and epidemiologists as an additional tool for identifying contact persons. By using it, it is possible to isolate yourself in time, so as not to endanger family, colleagues, friends and other residents.

As reported, ZT Bulmeistare, a representative of “VTU Valmiera”, informed that the total number of passengers on the trip Valka-Riga to Riga was 55, however, taking into account how passengers got on and off at the intermediate stops, there were 33 passengers on the bus at the same time. The total number of passengers on the trip to Valmiera-Valka was 22, but at the same time the bus had 11 passengers.

She explained that, according to the SPKC’s instructions, bus drivers are not considered as contact persons, so they are not given self-isolation, however, if symptoms of the disease appear, analyzes would be performed immediately and the SPKC’s instructions would be followed.

Edvards Valdmanis, a representative of Nordeka, told LETA that a total of 33 people, including the bus driver, were on the Riga-Valmiera-Rūjiena section of the Riga-Valmiera section, where the infected passenger was moving.

He pointed out that after a conversation with SPKC specialists, on July 1, the bus driver was sent to perform a Covid-19 test, which is negative, so the bus driver does not have to go to quarantine.

Valdmanis explained that according to the information provided by SPKC specialists, the infected passenger had bought a ticket at the bus station ticket office, therefore the risk of infection for the bus driver was also very low.

He also admitted that the face mask was not used by the particular passenger, but he took a seat in the cabin, distanceing himself from the other passengers.

Valdmanis also mentioned that the company’s bus cabins are disinfected with the funds provided after the regular trip, but after receiving information that there was a Covid-19 patient among the passengers on June 26, the bus involved in the trip was also dry-cleaned and ozonated. the bus cabin is free of microorganisms.
