Basem Morsi: They wronged me with intentionally hitting Saad Samir at the 2016 FIFA World Cup

Bassem Morsi, the former Zamalek striker and military producer, was absolved of the intentional injury to Saad Samir, the Al-Ahly striker, during the Egypt Cup match season of the season 20015-2016.

“Samir is my friend and a very polite person, and I love him on a personal level, but I never intended to hit him in the final of the Egypt Cup,” said Bassem Morsi during his arrival on the Zamalkawi program presented by Tariq Yahya on the Zamalek channel screen.

He continued: “I was wronged a lot in this incident, and there was no deliberate attempt against me against Saad Samir, who loved him very much and loved his lightness.”

Bassem Morsi explained the controversial statement “I don’t follow” that he made during the 2017 African Nations competition in Gabon, saying: “My intention was sound, but everyone interpreted it incorrectly.”

Bassem had answered a media question about the Egyptian team’s journey in the African nations, saying: “I don’t follow.”

He added: “The question was about the teams of the group corresponding to the Egyptian team and my expectation for it. My response was natural that I did not follow this group and I did not mean any abuse for my country.”
