Al-Marsad Newspaper – Agencies: Egyptian Zamalek Club Board Chairman Mortada Mansour warned of a disaster coming within days, which could lead to a crisis in the team following the court ruling in Mamdouh’s favor Abbas, the former club president.
A financial crisis in Zamalek
Mortada Mansour confirmed, in television statements on the Zamalek Club channel, that there must be a solution to the financial crisis Zamalek experienced due to the seizure of his assets from Mamdouh Abbas, his former president.
The president of Zamalek said: “I ask the Minister of Sport to intervene in the crisis of seizure of the club’s bank balances. We are in a calamity. A disaster will happen on 30 September”.
He added: “I appeal to the Minister of Sport Ashraf Sobhi and the Minister of Justice to save Zamalek, from Mamdouh Abbas and Mahmoud Al-Khatib”.
He asked: “I don’t know who is behind Mamdouh Abbas in Egypt. Zamalek has employees and workers, numbering up to 4,000 workers. How will they be arrested ?! In addition to coaches, technical devices and players.”
Until tomorrow
Mortada Mansour continued: “I will give everyone a deadline until tomorrow, and then I will announce with the documents all the information that Mamdouh Abbas got his money from Zamalek.”
He continued: “Next time I will go to the President of the Republic and the entire government to save the club from the committees of Mamdouh Abbas and Mahmoud Al-Khatib.”
Where do I spend the salaries of the club’s 4,000 workers?
Mortada Mansour asked: “Where do I spend Coach Gusvaldo Ferreira’s salary at the end of the month? Will he stay or leave if he doesn’t receive the salary?”
He said: “Where do I spend the salaries of 4,000 club workers? How do I pay the salaries of foreign players and coaches for the rest of the club’s games? How do I manage the money needed to travel to face the Burundian Champion in the African Champions League?”
The president of Zamalek explained: “I have concluded the agreement with the 3 strongest agreements requested by Ferrera, I have achieved everything with the players and their clubs, but we are waiting for the money”.
Mortada Mansour noted that Zamalek also has overdue financial debts to the channel that broadcasts the Egyptian League, as well as to the sponsoring company, concluding her statements in this regard by saying: “I do not appear daily to entertain people, the sponsoring company has not paid us 21. millions of lire as a reward for winning the championship and the cup, and we are patient because it is a national club ”.
