– We see that there is room to give customers more offers on this stretch. By combining buses and trains between Trondheim and Oslo, we can offer customers a more affordable alternative. At the same time, those who live between Lillehammer and Trondheim get a completely new transport offer. They can now choose whether they want to travel by train or bus, says communications manager Nina Hauge Schage in Vy.
The train to Lillehammer goes to and from Drammen. The night bus, which is now being established between Oslo and Trondheim, has not existed for several years and will start on 1 September.
– We run double deckers both during the day and at night. These buses are more comfortable than regular buses, with the opportunity to reserve seats for themselves on the second floor and with better views, says Schage.
Last year, Vy lost the tender for train traffic on the Dovre line, and this summer Swedish SJ took over train traffic between Oslo and Trondheim.
