Virology experts ask the government not to rush the corona vaccination, why?

Virology expert from the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health and Nursing (FKKMK) Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) M Saifudin Hakim asked the government not to rush the implementation of the vaccination program. Not only that, regarding vaccine candidates, they are also asked to remain careful by prioritizing levels safety and efficacy.

“The government must be really careful in determining vaccines. This is not a trivial matter, it requires preparation of friends in the vaccinator field, it needs a structured program to monitor follow-up events. This is tough work, I ask the government not to rush even in a pandemic situation, “Saifuddin explained in a virtual discussion on Kompas Talks with KAGAMA, Saturday (24/10).

Regarding the emergence of vaccination refusal by several people called Saifuddin, the government needs to communicate well what the level is safety and the efficacy of the vaccine to be candidate.

Saifuddin said there were several objections that were reasonable because the public must have questioned the safety of vaccines, especially when there was a narrative that vaccines would begin to be used in November.

Reflecting on this, Saifuddin said that the government had to communicate with the community concerned safety and the efficacy, especially from the results of the phase 3 clinical trial. The data from the study in the final phase called Saifuddin should be published.
