Violence in a home for the elderly in the capital’s Dragalevtsi district was reported by relatives of a pensioner from Sofia.
After a three-day stay, they took the elderly man with bruises and bleeding in his eye, a huge wound on his arm and other abrasions on his body. The explanation was that one wound was from falling down the stairs and the other from rubbing with a bag while bathing him. In the medical, however, it is written that the bruises are due to blows with hard, blunt objects.
The pensioners were taken out after the intervention of the police. From home they deny and show footage from security cameras.
The signal was given by Albena Kovacheva, who is the granddaughter of the victims. The elderly couple was accommodated in the home on the afternoon of October 1 by their son-in-law – Mikhail, who also signed a contract. The monthly fee for the home is BGN 700 per person.
“Everything looked good until the first night. They usually talked to their two daughters every night, but when they were called after being accommodated in the home, he first gave free rein, and then the phone was turned off. The next day I came to find out what was going on. They explained to me that the phones were stored in a safe because they were banned. We were not warned about this, “Mikhail told Nova TV.
Due to the lack of contact with the elderly, their family begins to doubt what is happening. They repeatedly look for the manager of the home, who informs them that the man and the woman are separated.
“According to the manager, my grandmother could not live with my grandfather. After 70 years of marriage … And after the first day spent at home, my grandmother neither asked about him nor looked for him. We had to call the police after my grandfather appeared with a blue eye, bleeding and a wound on his arm. The explanation was that my grandfather had fallen down the stairs and the wound was from rubbing with a bag “, explained the family’s granddaughter – Anelia.
However, according to medical evidence, these wounds were received after being hit by hard blunt objects.
The manager presents another version. She pointed out that the first day the grandfather fell down the stairs, and the next day he was hit by another user.

She told of two women who saw an elderly man beaten in the backyard and alerted the prosecutor’s office. Subsequently, according to them, a dense net was placed on the fence of the house, which stopped the visibility.
