Could this 17-year-old teenager and his 41-year-old father be foreign victims to the dispute which, on the evening of Monday, April 5, had given rise to a shooting, behind the town hall and in the parking lot of the bus station in Villefontaine? This is what emerges from the first investigations carried out by the gendarmes who proceeded to the arrest of five people, this Tuesday, April 13, announces Audrey Quey, prosecutor of the Republic of Vienna, in a press release. The investigators were supported by their colleagues from different Psig, Pspg, but also from the GIGN of Satory, with regard to the profile of the alleged shooter.
A week was therefore enough for the gendarmes to identify the alleged shooter and his accomplices. It was 9:50 p.m. on April 5 when an altercation had broken out between two groups of individuals in this district of the Square des Charpennes, in the center of Villefontaine. Then gunshots rang out. Two men, shot and wounded, had collapsed: a 17-year-old teenager in the parking lot of the station and, moments later, his 41-year-old father, at the bottom of the building where the family occupy an apartment . Their vital prognosis was then engaged. During the night, the gendarmes of the Bourgoin-Jallieu research brigade quickly went to collect decisive elements, and in particular the first name of the alleged shooter. Respondents known to justice
“Entrusted in co-referral to the Bourgoin-Jallieu research brigade and the Grenoble research section, the investigation was handled by the Judicial Task Force created on 1is last April by the Isère gendarmerie group and the Grenoble research section in the heart of the Republican Reconquest Quarter of Nord-Isère (in the towns of Villefontaine, L’Isle-d’Abeau and La Verpillière) ”, specifies the public prosecutor. The investigation thus made it possible to identify five people who “were arrested today and placed in police custody on charges of attempted murder or complicity, aggravated violence and carrying prohibited weapons”. Originally from Villefontaine, L’Isle-d’Abeau and Saint-Quentin-Fallavier, the five implicated are aged 17 to 48 and are all known to the courts. “In particular the gunman, aged 43, living in L’Isle-d’Abeau, has been convicted on multiple occasions, mainly for theft but also for drug trafficking, violence or even extortion with violence”, comments Audrey Quey .

The origin of the dispute still unclear

The shooter did not even know the family link between his two victims. This would confirm elements entrusted to the Dauphiné Liberated , a few days ago, by a relative of the victims. “Initially, the shooter had come to talk to a neighbor about selling a vehicle, and it would have turned out badly. The teenager who was injured is said to have come out after hearing a scandal. The father heard gunshots, he also went out to see what was happening and he was shot. He has his back so as not to be hurt in full face, ”said this interlocutor. “While the vital prognosis of the father was initially engaged, the state of health of the victims does not inspire any more concern today”, reassures the magistrate. The father’s total incapacity for work (ITT) is set at at least 30 days, that of the son at 21 days.
This Tuesday evening, April 13, the hearings continued. At the end of police custody, judicial information should be opened this Thursday, April 15 at the Grenoble judicial court, after relinquishment of the Vienna prosecutor’s office in favor of the Grenoble prosecutor’s office, the criminal center of Isère.
