Vietnamese electric cars are racing in the Czech Republic! An ambitious brand is testing here

Young Vietnamese brand VinFast has big plans to grow beyond the domestic market, both to the US and Europe. Its electric cars were also caught on the roads in the Czech Republic.

The ambitious Vietnamese car company VinFast belongs to the Vingroup group, whose founder and largest shareholder is the richest Vietnamese, Pham Nhat Vuong. The brand was founded only in 2017, but it already has branches in the USA, Canada, France, the Netherlands, and even in neighboring Germany. She would also like to build her European factory there.

The brand has also created European website, on which four electric SUVs can currently be found – models VF 6, VF 7, VF 8 and VF 9. It was the VF 8 model that was caught on Czech roads in recent days. According to the number plates, these are two different specimens and it is possible that there are even more of them.

On its European website, VinFast describes the VF 8 model as a sophisticated and comfortable family SUV with excellent workmanship, top technology, an unrivaled spacious interior and design by Pininfarina. The car can currently be reserved, while clicking through to the German version of the website reveals that the price should start at 61,700 euros, i.e. almost 1.5 million crowns.

One VinFast VF 8 test car was caught by a colleague Mario Rychter from the related website AutoRevue.cz. He met him last week on the I/35 expressway in the section between Liberec and Chrastava. The second caught specimen was sent to us by reader Jan Peser, who met the same model but a different specimen this week in Litoměřice on Tuesday. Both cars have the same color design and VinFast and Boundless Together inscriptions on the sides, yet the piece from Litoměřice had the logo and inscriptions pasted on the rear.

If you too catch something interesting on the roads and want to share the photos, don’t hesitate to send them to us in messages on one of our social networks – for example on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.
