Perr Schuurs has conquered a basic place at Ajax this season, while sister Demi Schuurs is making progress as a tennis player. For the L1 program AvondGasten Sport, the defender of the team from Amsterdam records a video message for his sister, who is moved to tears.
“Hey Demi, I talk to you every day, but I don’t see you that often”, says the Jong Oranje player. “Hopefully you will be home for a week when I go to mom and dad, then we will do something fun.” Her brother’s words move Demi. “I think I haven’t seen him in six months”, she says.
The Ajax defender says that he is closely following the career of 27-year-old Demi. “When it comes out I will watch her matches via a livestream and it will remain so.” Fortunately, they don’t give each other tips, he says. “I don’t do that to her either. She knows very well what to do and I know it myself. She also knows very well that she doesn’t have to.”
Schuurs has a good relationship with his sister, but hardly sees her. “I hope to see her next time I go back to Limburg. But that will be difficult, because she has to go to a tournament again next week.”
