The trailer for the film “Black is King”, written and directed by the American star, was released on Sunday June 28. Images.
American singer, songwriter, dancer and actress, Beyoncé has become a screenwriter and director for a good cause. For Disney +, she created a feature film called “Black is King”, a tribute to black culture.
The film was inspired by the album “The Lion King: The Gift”, a disc released in 2019, as well as the film “The Lion King”.
Context obliges, brutal death of George Floyd and the demonstrations which followed, the feature-length film is much awaited. It will be available on the streaming platform on July 31.
For Disney, “this film is a story through the centuries to educate and reconstruct our present (…) a story about how people set aside and broken represent an extraordinary gift and a proposal for the future”.
The artist, very committed to racism, will receive this Sunday, June 28, 2020 a prize for his humanitarian commitment at the BET Awards.
