The cement group Vicat announced on Friday the creation of a subsidiary dedicated to the treatment and recovery of energy and mineral waste, with two platforms located in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

This subsidiary, called Circulère, was officially launched on January 1 with the objective of “provide concrete solutions to companies (…) for the recovery of their waste», Explains Vicat in a press release.
Circulère employs a dozen people and has two sites, operated in collaboration with the Serfim group: Terenvie in the Rhône, specializing in the decontamination of brownfields, and Bioval in Savoy, dedicated to the production of solid recovered fuels. “The hybridization between industrial activity and service provider consolidates the group’s expertise», Declared the general manager of Circulère, Stéphane Rutkowsi, quoted in the press release.

Vicat underlines that in 2019 the use of fuels and substitute materials made it possible to recover nearly 450,000 tonnes of waste in its five French cement factories, contributing to its objectives of reducing CO2 emissions.
