The wake of actor and screenwriter Tozé Martinho, who died today at the age of 72, will take place from Monday afternoon at the Igreja da Ressurreição, in Cascais, with the funeral scheduled for Tuesday, in the same location.

According to a family source, the funeral will start at 2 pm, at the Church of the Resurrection, with a mass scheduled for 7 pm. The funeral, still without a set time, will take place on Tuesday, at the Municipal Cemetery of Guia.

Actor and screenwriter Tozé Martinho (António José Bastos de Oliveira Martinho) died today, aged 72, at Cascais Hospital, due to a cardiorespiratory arrest, the family source told Lusa.

Tozé Martinho debuted as an actor in 1982, in the first Portuguese soap opera, “Vila Faia”.

However, it was still in the 1970s that she first appeared on television screens, when she participated in the program “A Visita da Cornélia”, alongside her mother, actress and writer Maria Teresa Ramalho, known as Tareka (1927-2018 ).

Brother of the writer Ana Maria Magalhães, Tozé Martinho made his debut in script writing with the soap opera “Palavras Cruzadas”, aired in the late 1980s on RTP, where he was also an actor as well as co-author.

Throughout his career, Tozé Martinho participated in several soap operas and series, as an actor, screenwriter, mainly from RTP and TVI.
