Sentenced to 14 years Antonio Ciontoli for thevoluntary homicide of Marco Vannini. The family members Maria (his wife), and the children Martina and Federico were also sentenced to nine years and four months anomalous concurrence in voluntary homicide. The judgment the second degree partially accepts the requests of the Attorney General who had invoked 14 years in prison for the former soldier of the secret services Ciontoli, responsible in his opinion for the boy’s death. That night in May 2015 Marco was mistakenly shot and the arrival of help was delayed. This had been from the beginning the reconstruction of the public prosecutors of Civitavecchia who investigated the matter.

The prosecutor who coordinated the investigations, Alessandra D’Amore, had also undergone the initiation of disciplinary proceedings due to investigations which, according to the Ministry of Justice, would have been negligent. Subsequently, the proceeding was closed due to the absence of evidence to support the accusation.
