Valentino Rossi finishes 9th, Yamaha is helpless in MotoGP Styria

KOMPAS.comYamaha grabbed bad results on MotoGP Styria which was held at the Red Bull Ring Circuit, Spielberg, Austria, on Sunday (23/8/2020) evening WIB.

Racing MotoGP Styria 2020 again shows that Yamaha is indeed not friendly with the Red Bull Ring.

The Japanese manufacturer failed to place any of its riders in the top five of the 2020 Styria MotoGP race.

Valentino Rossi which in the previous series was able to finish in fifth, this time it got even worse results.

Rider tim Monster Energy Yamaha it was only able to finish in 9th place on the Styria MotoGP.

Meanwhile, Maverick Vinales who was Rossi’s teammate had the bad luck of failing to finish the race.

On Lap 16, Vinales was seen experiencing brake damage so that the rider jumps off the bike at Turn 1.

Vinales’ motorbike caught fire after crashing air fence. This makes red flag flutter and the race is paused for a while.

Not only did the Monster Energy Yamaha factory team achieve bad results, the Petronas Yamaha SRT satellite team also lost their stance at the Styria MotoGP.

Two Petronas Yamaha SRT riders namely Fabio Quartararo and Franco Morbidelli finished outside the top 10.

Quartararo was only able to finish in 13th place in the Styria MotoGP, while Morbidelli fell to 15th place.

Despite failing to finish in the top 10 at the Styria GP, Quartararo still tops the standings MotoGP 2020 racer category with a collection of 70 points.

However, Quartararo began to be wary because he was only three points away from Andrea Dovizioso who was ranked second.

Morbidelli, who only got one point at the Styria MotoGP, is now ranked 11th with 32 points.

Meanwhile, two Monster Energy Yamaha riders dropped in rank after the Styria MotoGP 2020.

Maverick Vinales is currently in fifth place in the MotoGP standings with 48 points, while Valentino Rossi is in seventh place with 45 points.
