Vaccination Campaign in Mexico City: Who, Where, and When to Get Vaccinated

Thousands of capital residents have attended the various vaccination centers for their reinforcements against covid-19 or its dose to combat influenza and other types of seasonal ailments.

Since mid-October, the federal government began the vaccination campaign against seasonal influenza and covid-19, in which it was estimated that Will apply 54.6 million doses nationwide.

Who can be vaccinated?

The entire population can go to the vaccination centers throughout Mexico City to be immunized, although it is required that vulnerable sectors go with priority.

Such is the case of people over 60 years old or more, health personnel, pregnant in any trimester of gestation and those who are between five and 59 years old with risk factors such as obesity or smoking.

In addition to vaccines against covid and influenza, a call was made to people over 65 years of age to get vaccinated also against pneumococcus to prevent serious infections caused by the bacteria, such as pneumonia, meningitis, bacteremia, otitis media, sinusitis or bronchitis.

Currently, the capital government has hospitals, clinics and health centers where you can go to get vaccinated in the 16 municipalities from Mexico City.

When is the last day to get vaccinated in CdMx?

According to the bulletin of the Health Secretary published on the Mexican government page, the vaccination campaign will last until March 2024.

The general director of the National Center for Preventive Programs and Disease Control Ruy López Ridaura reported in the morning conference of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador that the 2023-2024 vaccination campaign began on October 16 and ends March 31, 2024.
