Ship Yuma in the Black Sea

The Yuma is the eighth Spearhead-class expeditionary ship in the US Navy.

On Saturday, July 10, the American expeditionary transport ship Yuma entered the port of Odessa, which USA sent to the Black Sea to conduct operations with NATO allies and partners, informs Dumskaya edition.

It is noted that the ship is involved in transport operations after completion of international exercises Sea Breeze-2021. The vessel was moored to berth 2-K of the container terminal of the port of Odessa in the morning.

According to the publication, Yuma is the eighth Spearhead-class expeditionary ship in the US Navy. It is made of lightweight aluminum alloy and is not specially painted. The vessel is 103 meters long and 28.5 meters wide.

There is a helipad on board the ship. It can take on board more than 300 marines and about 550 tons of various equipment, including military equipment and tanks.

As you know, the Yuma ship three times went to the Black Sea… The last time was in September 2020. It is a multipurpose vessel designed to operate in shallow water ports and fairways.
