Washington also recognizes Kiev’s progress in reform. The United States and Ukraine intend to strengthen economic and trade ties, facilitate the liberalization of the terms of trade, and facilitate market access for goods and services. At the same time, Ukraine is committed to prioritizing corporate governance reform.
“This charter replaces the Charter on Strategic Partnership between the United States and Ukraine, signed in Washington on December 19, 2008. The United States and Ukraine intend to revise this charter every 10 years, or earlier if both sides believe changes are necessary,” the document says.
