UPDATE: Indonesia’s Covid-19 Cases Pass 290,000, There are 4,174 New Cases

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.comIndonesia has been hit by a pandemic for almost seven months Covid-19. However, signs of reduced transmission corona virus not yet seen.

The government shows that the transmission of the virus scientifically named SARS-Cov-2 is still happening, so the number coronavirus case continues to increase until today, Thursday (1/10/2020).

In fact, the number of additions Covid-19 patients still high, which is over 4,000 people a day.

Government data until this Thursday at 12.00 WIB shows, there are 4,174 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

The addition has caused Covid-19 cases in Indonesia to now reach 291,182 people, starting from the time the first case was announced by President Joko Widodo on March 2, 2020.

This information was conveyed by the Covid-19 Handling Task Force through data to reporters on Thursday afternoon.

Data can also be accessed by the public via the Covid19.go.id and Kemkes.go.id sites update every afternoon.

The patient recovered and died

The government shows that the number of patients recovering after being infected with the corona virus also continues to increase.

In a day, there are an additional 3,540 Covid-19 patients who recover and are considered no longer infected with the corona virus.

They were declared cured after the examination with the method polymerase chain reaction (PCR) shows negative results for the corona virus.

Thus, the total number of Covid-19 patients who recovered reached 218,487 people.

However, there is still sad news with the increasing number of Covid-19 patients who have died.

In the period 30 September – 1 October 2020, there were an additional 116 Covid-19 patients who died.

As a result, the death toll from Covid-19 in Indonesia is now 10,856 people.

Apart from active cases, it is also known that currently there are 135,480 people who are suspects.

Specimen data

A total of 4,174 new cases of Covid-19 were discovered after the government examined 43,592 specimens a day.

In the same period, it is known that 30,296 people were sampled to undergo specimen examination.

To date, the government has examined 3,365,490 specimens on 2,023,990 people sampled.

With the record, one person can undergo specimen examination more than once.

Currently, Covid-19 cases have been recorded in all provinces in the country, from Aceh to Papua.

In detail, there are 497 districts / cities from 34 provinces that have recorded coronavirus transmission.

This means that more than 96 percent of the area in Indonesia has been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
