Darmstadt (ots) – Several as yet unknown perpetrators rioted in Bartningstrasse early Wednesday morning (August 4th) and allegedly hit a white Mercedes with a stick. This caused damage in the area of the headlights and the windshield, which, according to initial estimates, amounts to at least 14,000 euros.
Witnesses had alerted the police at around 4.15 a.m. after they became aware of the noisy young men. As part of the search, which was initiated immediately, the rushing officers temporarily arrested a 21 – year – old man from Darmstadt who was found near the scene of the crime and whose appearance matched one of the first descriptions of the person. The ongoing investigations will show whether he is a possible suspect and who else were his escaping companions. This has taken over the police station 43 from the Darmstadt police.
