“Ultra” Electronic Music Festival begins – Telemundo Miami (51)

The Ultra music festival opened its doors today and more than 55 thousand people are expected to attend each day at Bayfront Park

For the safety of the participants, the Miami firefighters were finalizing the preparations for this weekend of electronic music early on.

Lieutenant Pete Sánchez, of the Miami fire department: “We have rescue trucks, we have bicycle inspectors where we can go through the areas where scooters cannot go.”

This morning at the Miami Fire Headquarters at 7th and 12th Northwest, Trucks were being outfitted and kits were being prepared with medications and everything needed in case of an emergency — firefighters will be aboard bicycles and scooters ready to quickly reach any incident something they couldn’t do with regular trucks.

“We have been working for 2 years and ultra has done a good job in preparing the safety of the People who come to the festival”, says Sánchez.

The last two years the festival was closed due to the pandemic, but this event attracts people from all over and both the Miami police and firefighters are ready.

Miami Police Kiara Delva says: “We have new security measures that we are not going to reveal but that are in place as well as more police in elevated areas to see the crowd.”

“We have firefighters, paramedics, people who are technical emergencies, people from hazardous materials, inspectors for pyrotechnics,” says Sánchez.

The music can be heard from afar and some attendees were looking online for ear protectors and ready to enjoy.

As a result of the event that will run until Sunday, several streets have been closed.
