Police are investigating what they describe as suspicious deaths, after two women aged between 20 and 60 were found dead in a house in Kragerø.
– They have a family relationship, the head of the Øystein Skottmyr police station tells VG.
It was at 11pm on Monday evening that emergency services went to a house in Levangsheia.
Police went to the address after receiving a report of concern from a person who had not been in contact with one of the deceased.
– There is nothing to indicate that a crime has occurred, says Skottmyr.
Kragerø Blad Vestmar mentioned the matter first.
– Crime scene technicians have been investigating the crime scene since Monday evening. We will interview witnesses and continue the technical investigation, Skottmyr told the paper.

Norwegian citizens
The case is being investigated as a suspicious death, because the cause of death is unknown.
Two women aged between 20 and 60 were found dead on the spot and were pronounced dead shortly after by health personnel.
Skottmyr says they have no idea of the cause of death and won’t be able to say anything until an autopsy report is available.
– They are Norwegian citizens and have not been known to us since before, Skottmyr tells NTB.
The next of kin have been notified, the police station chief told the local newspaper.
Blue light Monday night
VG has been in contact with a neighbor of the two who were found dead. He says he saw blue lights on the property Monday night.
The fact that two people have now been found dead seems sensational to him.
– It’s a shock that something like this has to happen here in Levangsheia, he tells VG.
The neighbor says he knew the older woman who lived at the address.
– She was very kind and welcoming when I spoke to her, she says.

VG has also been in contact with the owner who rents to the two women.
– It is an unparalleled tragedy, he tells VG.
He says the two must have lived there for nearly 20 years.
– There was never a bad thing. They always paid the rent on time and helped carefully around the house, he tells VG.
