A shooting Saturday morning sent two men to the hospital while they were inside a taxi, New York City Police said.
The men, ages 22 and 24, were in the back of the vehicle in Midtown around 4 a.m. when they heard gunshots, two senior officials said. Then they felt the bullets.
One of the men was shot in the left arm and the other in the right arm, authorities said. The victims were transported to Bellevue Hospital for treatment and are expected to survive.
Investigators were searching the vehicle at W 37th Street y 8th Avenue until late in the morning.
Police said the suspected shooter fled on foot down 8th Avenue. No arrests have been announced.
He is described as being 5’8 tall and was last seen wearing a white shirt.
Police officials indicated that they recovered 3 9mm bullet casings and are looking for videos of the area for the investigation.
