Two deaths when a double paraglider fell in Izaña | BE Las Palmas

The two paragliders, both men, who this Sunday suffered a fall in the take-off area in Izaña, in Las Cañadas del Teide, have died, sources from 112 informed Efe.

It was at 10.10 am when 112 received the alert of the fall of a two-seater paraglider in the take-off area in Izaña.

From that moment, the helicopter of the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES), Civil Guard, personnel of the Teide National Park, Cecopin, Tenerife Firefighters and Civil Protection were activated.

The GES helicopter located and rescued both affected and transferred them to the road where the sanitary device of the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) had been arranged, consisting of two ambulances and a medicalized helicopter.

While the SUC team attended to the first rescued affected person who was in cardiorespiratory arrest, the GES rescued the second injured person, also in cardiorespiratory arrest, and transferred him to the road so that he could be assisted.

Despite the maneuvers practiced by the health workers, the health workers confirmed the death of both affected.

Displaced emergency resources collaborated on the device.

The Civil Guard is in charge of the corresponding proceedings.
