Coordinator of the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) Boyamin Saiman agree with the proposal KPK dissolved and merged with the Attorney General’s Office. In response, the KPK mentioned Boyamin about the bribery case of the inactive Banjarnegara Regent Budhi Sarwono which is being handled.
As summarized by detik.com, Saturday (11/6/2022), the proposal regarding the dissolution of the KPK was originally issued by a former KPK employee, Rasamala Aritonang. Boyamin also agreed with Rasamala’s proposal. Then he mentioned that the comparison of the KPK’s salary with that of the prosecutor’s office was the reason.
“The reasons for joining the Attorney General’s Office are the principle of benefit. The salary of the KPK is very high, so merging with the Attorney General’s Office will have a high salary impact on employees at the Attorney General’s Office,” said Boyamin Saiman in his statement, Friday (10/6).
According to data compiled by MAKI, the salaries of KPK employees are higher than those of the Attorney General’s Office. The details are as follows:
– Executors (investigators and prosecutors) at the KPK are around Rp. 25 million, while at the Attorney General’s Office it is Rp. 11 million;
– Echelon II KPK officials are paid Rp. 40 million, while at the AGO it is Rp. 25 million
– The KPK leadership is paid around Rp. 100 million, while the Attorney General is paid Rp. 35 million.
The KPK, added Boyamin, has a budget for dealing with corruption that is twice as large as the Attorney General’s Office. The KPK budget for handling corruption cases is around Rp. 70 billion, while the AGO is around Rp. 30 billion (including handling crimes outside of corruption: human rights, taxes, customs).
Therefore, Boyamin supports Rasamala’s narrative about the disbandment of the KPK. He also proposed that KPK employees be appointed as officers of the Attorney General’s Office.
“So MAKI supports the proposal to disband the KPK and then the KPK employee personnel are merged with the Round Building (where the handling of corruption cases/Pidsus of the Attorney General’s Office) is concerned,” said Boyamin.
