Two arrested after shooting during a chase in Maastricht | Inland

Around 11 p.m. on Thursday evening, the police received several reports of a shooting during a chase at Sterreplein in the Limburg capital. The police managed to get into both vehicles on Boschstraat. All five occupants – all men – were taken to the police station, two of them were arrested.

According to witnesses, the cars were driving one after the other at high speed. Shots were heard during this pursuit. “Clearly, the rear car rammed into the front car a number of times,” police said.

Police have closed Boschstraat to traffic. Agents are looking for casings on the street at both Sterreplein and Boschstraat. Officers also spoke to witnesses of the wild chase.

A police spokeswoman was unable to provide details on the identity of the occupants. Two were in one car, she said, and three in the other. The five are heard to find out the facts of the violent incident.
