eunits of the Greek army will conduct extensive target practice on the islands in the east of the Aegean on Monday. This was reported by the Greek state television, citing the Ministry of Defense in Athens.
From the commentators’ point of view, the exercises are a reaction from Athens to the increase in migrants who had transferred the previous day from Turkey to the islands of Lesbos, Chios and Samos. While almost 100 people have come from Turkey every day since the beginning of the year, a good 700 migrants migrated to the islands on Sunday.
The Greek semi-official news agency ANA-MPA, citing the coast guard, reported that 220 migrants had arrived on the island of Lesbos on Sunday morning.
